Connexions’ Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place Tuesday, June 20, at the Connexions Resource Centre where we welcomed new members to the organization and acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the Board Members, Executive Director, Staff and Volunteers this past year.
Cary O’Brien began the AGM by welcoming everyone in attendance. He highlighted Connexions’ growth in its outreach and programming, its increased funding and its addition of new staff, including a Communications Coordinator, a Seniors’ Outreach Worker and a Liaison Agent. Cary emphasized the importance of the long-standing relationship with the Western Quebec School Board and announced the impending move of Connexions’ offices to Philemon Wright High School. He also noted the importance of Connexions’ partnerships with the CISSS de l’Outaouais, Community Health and Social Services Network, McGill University and local partnership tables which has led to expanded reach and funding. He also thanked Danielle Lanyi, Executive Director, for her leadership and dedication.
Danielle Lanyi gave a brief overview of the 2016-2017 fiscal year for Connexions, noting that requests for representation from Connexions at partnership tables and from organizations increased, demonstrating the important role Connexions plays throughout the region. She also noted that the constitution of the des Collines Consultative Committee was an asset in the region as it sets an example for increased dialogue and input with the CISSS de l’Outaouais.
Following elections at the AGM, Connexions’ Board of Directors for 2017-2018 includes Cary O’Brien, Sheilagh Murphy, Katie Gunn, Mylène Kosseim, Julie Witmer, Sandra Stapleton and Sarah Gutman.
We would like to thank our members and volunteers for their continued support of Connexions Resource Centre.
