This program delivers community-based learning about health and social services to rural and remote English-speaking communities through videoconferencing and DVD distribution. CHEP sessions inform individuals in communities where there may be gaps in information available in English. Local professionals, caregivers, and sector volunteers are encouraged to learn alongside community participants in the videoconferencing sessions and offer additional support.
CHEP videoconference sessions enable Connexions to reach seniors with a variety of topics, such as Alzheimer’s, navigating the health-care system, eye care, mental health issues, and more. These sessions also enhance their relationships with local support groups and health services in the Outaouais.
