Diagnostic Imaging Technologists operate radiographic and radiation therapy equipment to produce images of body structures for the diagnosis of injuries or of diseases such as cancer, and may administer radiation treatments. Tasks often include positioning patients on radiographic equipment, setting exposures on x-ray generator units, and capturing analog and digital images for radiologists to interpret and diagnose. These technologists can work two distinct areas: diagnostic radiology or nuclear medicine. They are employed in hospitals, cancer treatment centres, clinics, and radiological laboratories.
SALARY
$22.05 to $32.28 per hour
EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN QUÉBEC
- 3-year Cégep Diploma
- Diagnostic Imaging is offered in English at Cégep Dawson College, or at various other Cégeps in French.
- Membership in the Ordre professionnel des technologues en radiologie du Québec

High School diploma with Sec V Mathematics and Science or Physical Science
