General Practitioners provide clients of all ages with a range of services involving the medical diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of illnesses, diseases, or injuries. These doctors interview or examine the client, order tests or analyses, offer diagnoses, prescribe treatment or drugs, provide referrals to specialists if necessary, and give medical advice for maintaining, improving, or restoring health. General Practitioners work in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and long-term care facilities, CLSCs, and private practices.
