Travailleur et travailleuse social(e)
Social Workers help clients identify and address personal, family, or community problems. They establish contingency plans for those who may be homeless, chronically unemployed, addicted to drugs or alcohol, physically or intellectually disabled, struggling within families, or otherwise socially vulnerable. They may also be involved in facilitating child placements in foster care or placements for adoption. Social Workers must analyze the nature and severity of problems and determine clients’ support needs by conducting assessments and psychosocial diagnoses. They may sometimes be involved in public awareness and advocacy on social issues that affect their clientele. Social Workers principally practice their profession in community centres or youth centres, CLSCs, and hospitals.
