The Québec Government recently launched a new centralized online tool that allows you to register for a family doctor by adding your name to the guichet d’accès à un médecin de famille (GAMF). You must have a valid Québec health card and be aged 14 or older to complete the registration. Since the wait is long, registration should be done immediately upon arrival in Québec. Priority is given to people with the most severe health problems.
If you do not have internet access, you can call your local CLSC to be added to the territory waiting list. In Aylmer, call RLS de Grande-Rivière-Hull-Gatineau (Gatineau, Hull, Aylmer) at 819-966-6200, extension 3989.
In Québec, in order to consult a specialist (dermatologist, gynecologist, urologist, orthopedic, ophthalmologist, etc.), you must be referred by a general physician.
