Word Play Parent-Child Workshops
Connexions’ series of 6 Word Play Parent-Child Workshops (or Dyads) are facilitated by Speech Language Therapists (SLPs) who offer hands-on support for families whose child (0-5) may have a speech or communication delay or disability.
Connexions’ Community Speech-Language Pathology Continuum (CSLPC) Initiative funded by the Community Health & Social Services Network (CHSSN) fosters increased awareness, prevention, and early identification of speech and language problems in children 0-5.
This family-centered approach to early identification gives families the tools they need to better understand language milestones, the myths surrounding learning more than one language and what services are available to them within the community. It also flags parents who are unsure if they should seek therapy for their child or who need to support their children while they wait for services from the CISSS de l’Outaouais. The goal is to help parents support their child build strong language skills and become confident communicators.
Our Word Play series of workshops usually take place in the fall months. For more detailed information about these workshops and to find out how to register, connect with us at 819-557-0615 or .
