Celebrating a Decade of Impact: Connexions Reflects on Community Partnerships

Connexions, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the English-speaking community in the Outaouais region, is excited to announce a series of new initiatives aimed at enhancing community health and wellbeing. Building on over a decade of successful partnerships with public institutions and community organizations, Connexions continues to play a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

New Programs for Families and Children

One of the highlights of these initiatives is the introduction of the “Let’s Play & Talk Kits,” designed to support early childhood development. These kits include a range of fun and engaging activities that encourage learning through play, helping families to foster essential developmental skills in young children. Additionally, Connexions has expanded its minibiblio service, offering families access to a rotating selection of children’s books to instill a love of reading from an early age.

Support for the 55+ Community

Recognizing the importance of active engagement for older adults, Connexions is rolling out a variety of activities tailored for the 55+ community. These include virtual and in-person yoga and dance classes, informative sessions on legal matters, and “Jog Your Mind” workshops. These programs aim to promote physical health, mental agility, and social connections among seniors.

Focus on Health and Safety

Connexions remains committed to empowering individuals with the knowledge and resources they need to protect themselves and their families. The organization offers guidance on navigating Québec’s healthcare system, including information about RAMQ services, vaccination locations, and mental health support. Through collaborations with healthcare professionals, Connexions ensures that English-speaking residents have access to crucial health services in their language.

Engagement and Involvement

Connexions invites community members to participate in these initiatives and take advantage of the wide range of activities available. Registration is required for most events to ensure adequate space and resources for participants. Those interested can visit the Connexions website or contact the team directly via phone or email for more information.

As Connexions continues to evolve and respond to the needs of the community, these new initiatives reflect the organization’s unwavering dedication to promoting health, social wellbeing, and vitality among English-speaking residents in the Outaouais region.
