Celebrating a Year of Achievements : 2023-24 AGM Recap

Connexions staff, board members, community members, and community partners came together on Thursday, June 27th at the Gatineau Golf Club to celebrate a momentous year of exciting activities, innovative initiatives, and community collaboration.

We would like to extend a special thank you to our community partners who joined in the celebration with us: Chad Bean, Director of the Regional Association of West Québecers (RAWQ); Eldon Keon, principal at Lord Aylmer Elementary School (Western Québec School Board); Greg Graham, Executive Director of the Western Québec Literacy Council; Joanne Dubois, Adjointe à la directrice du RLS Pontiac, Répondante de l’accessibilité aux services en langue anglaise, Direction RLS du Pontiac, CISSS de l’Outaouais; Kaara Brown, Spécialiste en procédés administratifs pour: l’accès aux services en langue anglaise et aux communautés ethnoculturelles, Direction du réseau local des services Pontiac, CISSS de l’Outaouais; Kevin Drysdale, Board of Director member for the CHSSN; Lisa Peldjak, Academic Dean at Cégep Heritage College; Matt Dowdell, Executive Director of the WAY; and Sally Swan, President of the Wakefield Golden Age Club. Your support and involvement have been crucial to our success this year.

We are also grateful to our incredible speakers and community meeting facilitators, Eric and Richard Walling of Walling Consulting. Their work throughout the 2023-24 year has helped us explore opportunities for stronger partnerships and envision a future where we maximize our collaborative efforts to better serve the English-speaking community.

Thank you to all who participated in our community meetings. Your invaluable insights will help guide our actions as we move forward.

During the AGM, we took a moment to thank our departing board members, Cary O’Brien, Rose Regimbald, and Reverend Susan Lewis. Their contributions over the years have helped shape and grow our organization. We also extended a warm welcome to our new board members, Caitlin Campisi, Nelson Sanz-Cadena, and Carol Valin. We look forward to the fresh perspectives and ideas they will bring to Connexions.

The 2023-24 AGM was a testament to the power of community and collaboration. As we look back on a year filled with achievements and progress, we are excited to continue working together to support and strengthen our community. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this event. Your participation and commitment are what make Connexions a thriving and impactful organization.
