How to get Vaccinated

For regular vaccination provided for in the Quebec immunization program , the CISSS de l’Outaouais offer services in several facilities, including the vaccination center as well as certain CLSCs. Vaccination is also available in pharmacies. The CISSS de l’Outaouais invites you to contact your pharmacy on this subject. 

Flu & Covid-19

Starting on October 10, 2023, free vaccinations for respiratory illnesses will be available to the general public. This includes free flu shots and the new Covid-19 vaccine for everyone. Additionally, certain groups will also be eligible for a free pneumococcal infection vaccine.

Vaccine co-administration

You can get the flu vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time, as needed. There is no interval to follow between these vaccines.

The flu and COVID-19 vaccines given at the same time offer the same protection against these infections as if they were given a few days or weeks apart. No specific issue has been reported following administration of these vaccines at the same vaccine appointment.

Similarly, at your vaccination appointment, the pneumococcal vaccine may also be offered to you.

Vaccination against respiratory infections is strongly recommended for the following people:

• People living in residential and long-term care centers, private seniors’ residences or other collective environments with a high proportion of elderly and vulnerable people.
• People aged 60 and over
• People who are immunocompromised, on dialysis or living with a chronic illness
• Pregnant women
• Healthcare workers
• Adults living in remote or isolated areas
• People with babies aged six months and under

• If you have an appointment planned with a health professional (pharmacists, doctors, nurses, etc.), please confirm whether they can offer you vaccination.

• If you are unable to do so online or are having difficulty, call 1-844-351-6277 (toll-free).

Note: For people living  long-term care centers (CHSLD), intermediate and family-type resources (RR-RTFs) and private residences for seniors (RPA), mobile teams will travel to these living environments. No action is required on the part of the individuals to make an appointment.

Immunosuppressed people and people with chronic illnesses 

Consult a qualified healthcare provider such as a family doctor or a CLSC nurse. They can guide you on additional vaccinations that may be beneficial for your specific health situation.

Vaccination Services for Children  

Vaccination services are available for both preschool-aged (0-4 years) and school-aged children at all CLSC locations, as well as some Family Medicine Groups (GMF) and medical clinics.
