Become a Board Member for the Connexions Resource Centre

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? Do you possess leadership skills and a drive to contribute to meaningful change? If so, we invite you to consider becoming a valued member of the board for Connexions Resource Centre.

Connexions Resource Centre is dedicated to promoting the health, social wellbeing, and vitality of the English-speaking community through empowerment, participation and collaboration within the Outaouais. Now, as we continue to grow and expand our reach, we are seeking dedicated individuals to join our board of directors.

As a board member, you will play a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring financial sustainability, and maximizing our impact. Your expertise and passion will help us navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and ultimately, make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Connexions is looking for individuals who have a genuine passion for our mission and a willingness to dedicate time, energy, and resources to support the work of the organization. Board members must also work collaboratively with fellow board members, staff, volunteers, and external partners to achieve common goals and maximize impact. If this is you and you possess some of the following competencies, please consider joining our board:

Desired Competencies

  1. Strategic Planning: Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of long-term strategic plans that align with our mission and vision.
  2. Financial Management: Experience in financial oversight, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
  3. Governance and Compliance: Understanding of not-for-profit governance principles, legal requirements, and ethical standards, with a commitment to upholding the highest level of integrity and transparency.
  4. Community Engagement: Strong connections within the community and the ability to engage with stakeholders, build partnerships, and advocate for our cause.
  5. Leadership and Decision-Making: Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to lead by example, inspire others, and make informed decisions in the best interest of the organization.
  6. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization and the broader community, with a willingness to actively address systemic barriers and foster an inclusive environment.
  7. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate our mission, engage stakeholders, and represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
