Audiologist

Audiologiste

Audiologists are concerned with the identification, assessment, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of hearing difficulties in children and adults. Audiologists also provide education and counselling services for people experiencing hearing difficulties and vestibular (inner ear) problems, such as dizziness and tinnitus. Duties include diagnosing hearing difficulties, selecting and fitting hearing aids, designing and implementing rehabilitation strategies for clients, and consulting regarding noise exposure and the preservation of hearing. Audiologists work in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, residential and long-term care centres (CHSLDs), and CLSCs.

SALARY

$23.02 to $42.51 per hour

PREREQUISITES

  • To be admitted to the M.P.A., the candidate must:
  • Hold a B.Sc. (Audiology) from the École d’orthophonie et d’audiologie, or an equivalent diploma in Audiology, have obtained at least a 3.0 on 4.3 grade or equivalent, and demonstrate a good knowledge of French and English.
