Heart disease is under-studied, under-diagnosed, and under-treated in women.  Find out more about women’s heart health:

  • Visit the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Centre website for more heart health stats specific to women.
  • Join us for our free videoconference Women’s Heart Health on Wednesday, February 19 as special guest speaker, Wendy Wray, RN, B.Sc. N, Nurse, talks to us about the ways heart disease is different for women, as well as some first easy steps you can take towards a healthier life.
  • Learn about the common Symptoms of heart disease for women:
    • Chest pain or discomfort. This can feel like a pressure, tightness, heaviness, squeezing, burning, or gripping pain or discomfort
    • Pain radiating from chest to the neck, jaw, left arm and/or back, stomach
    • Stomach pain or discomfort, or feelings of indigestion
    • Unusual shortness of breath
    • Unusual or extreme fatigue
    • Dizziness or light-headedness
    • An irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia)
    • Nausea and/or vomiting

    • Pain in the jaw, neck, shoulders, arms, back and/or stomach but not in chest
