The tots had a blast at our last playgroup as we celebrated fatherhood with our special Dad guest, Dermot Guinnane, who shared with us his favourite stories, some stretching exercises, as well as fun driving and imaginative play. The kids also got to enjoy a fruit smoothie snack and ended their morning with a final goodbye song with our playgroup facilitator, Lori. As this was our last playgroup before the summer break, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank Cégep Heritage College for providing the playgroup space and free parking, and the Early
Childhood Care Education (ECCE) teachers and their students for welcoming us and facilitating fun activities for our kiddies.
And of course, a special shout-out to our playgroup facilitator, Lori, for organizing fun and creative activities for our tots this year!! It’s been loads of fun!!! 🙂

What is Quebec Fatherhood Week (QFW)?
Under the theme, “Daddy and Me: Building a Firm Foundation” our playgroup participated in Quebec Fatherhood Week (QFW), in order to celebrate the role of fathers and to recognize the importance of fathers for child development. Check-out the Regroupement pour la Valorisation de la Paternité (RVP) Press Release Measures to Improve the Experience of Parenthood for Fathers, which unveils a series of public policy proposals in order to offer Quebec fathers conditions that will allow them to experience fatherhood to the fullest. These proposals aim at reducing certain impediments that hinder the capacity of fathers to be involved with their children and family as much as they wish.
