#DidYouKnow that the School Dropout Rate in the Outaouais has Decreased from 23.8% to 20.3%?

Some of the steps taken to increase the graduation rate have included:

  • Since 2009, more than 2,000  local organizations and partners (municipalities,   child care, health and social services facilities, schools, community organizations, etc.) have deployed projects targeting the development of 0-5 year olds to properly equip them for entry into school;
  • 75% of the actions taken by regional consultation bodies (RCBs) target children from disadvantaged or immigrant backgrounds with learning difficulties;
  • More than 2,500  companies have been made aware of the importance of good work-study balance and have been accompanied in the implementation of best practices in this area over the past ten years.

The Outaouais’ graduation and regional qualification rate is increasing, according to the latest data from the ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur. This is good news for both boys and girls.

Graduation and qualification rates

In addition to seeing its graduation rate increase, the Outaouais is seeing a decrease in its dropout rate.  The comparison between the exit rates without a diploma or qualification in 2012-13 and those 2009-2010, all networks combined, indicate a positive trend for all the territories of the region, with the exception of the RCM of Pontiac territory.
