Resources for Parents Seeking to Help their Child Deal with Cyberviolence in the Context of a Dating Relationship

The following video on “What exactly is cyberviolence? Demystifying cyberviolence” is brought to you by the Association Québécoise Plaidoyer-Victimes (AQPV), a non-profit organization that promotes and defends the rights and interests of victims of crime and their families.  The organization is working on translating their website and is currently offering English publications for parents to:
  • make you aware of the forms that cyberviolence takes in teen intimate relationships and its consequences,
  • inform you of the workings of the youth justice system in the area of cyberviolence in dating relationships and the related provisions under the Criminal Code,
  • provide you with practical advice and resources that can help you and your child, and
  • give you the tools you need to better support your child.

The following fact sheets are now available: What form does cyberviolence take in teen dating relationships?   What are the signs that a teen is being cybervictimized by their boyfriend or girlfriend?   What are the consequences of cyberviolence in teen dating relationships?  and Many behaviours associated with cyberviolence in the context of a dating relationship are considered crimes.

You can also visit our Connexions YouTube Channel to view our Cyberviolence Playlist and you can visit the AQPV website to order their new Guide on Cyberviolence in Teen Intimate Relationships.
