Position Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator will implement community development strategies to engage English-speaking community members and organizations in the mission of the Connexions Resource Centre. The coordinator plays a central role in the planning, programming, outreach and evaluation of Connexions Resource Centre activities and projects. The Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator will also be responsible for liaising with key community stakeholders and representing the organization on local, regional, and provincial committees to promote the needs of English-speaking residents of the MRC des-Collines-de-l’Outaouais. The coordinator also manages the operations of the Connexions satellite office in the MRC des Collines territory and actively collaborates with Connexions staff on projects and initiatives that have a regional scope.
Duties and Responsibilities
Outreach activities
- Provide support to English-speaking residents to facilitate their access to existing services.
- Promote awareness of existing services to the English-speaking community.
- Plan, prepare and deliver thematic workshops.
- To organize and host events that bring together the English-speaking community and public and community organizations.
- Participate in the needs assessment of the English-speaking community as required.
Communication
- In collaboration with Connexions staff, develop and implement a communication plan to inform the English-speaking community of existing services and to strengthen links with public and community organizations in the MRC des-Collines-de-l’Outaouais.
- Develop and perform resource and document maintenance – in written and electronic formats (web, social media).
- Develop appropriate information tools for the English-speaking community.
Networking
- Represent the needs of the English-speaking community through participation at various local, regional, and cross-sectoral tables.
- Attend kiosks and fairs to promote the mission and activities of Connexions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with government, public and community organizations and elected officials to foster collaboration and partnership.
- Collaborate with organizations to support accessibility to services that meet the needs of English-speaking residents.
Other tasks
- Develop, implement, and evaluate an action plan.
- Provide support for grant applications.
- Gather and analyze statistics and information for reporting purposes.
- Complete and submit reports as required by Connexions Resource Centre.
- Participate in trainings as appropriate.
Skill Requirements
- A recognized university degree and/or relevant experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French.
- Motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal communication and facilitation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience in coordinating and organizing events.
- Knowledge of English-speaking community.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and social media platforms.
- Available to work evenings or weekends on occasion.
- Be willing to travel to different locations in the region and in other regions of Québec.
- A valid driver’s license (access to a vehicle).
Working Hours
35 hours per week from Monday to Friday (full-time).
Compensation
$50 000.00 to $55 000,00 depending on education and experience.
After one year of employment, you will receive a retention bonus of $2,000.
Place of work
Satellite office of Connexions to be determined on the territory of the MRC des-Collines-de-l’Outaouais.

Connexions offers a group benefits package after a 3-month probationary period, which is cost-shared 50% between the employee and the employer.
