What Are You Up to this Weekend? | Visit to Chutes Coulonge Adventure Park in Mansfield-et-Pontefract (Fort-Coulonge)

What are you up to this weekend? Cait and her friend, Katy, visited Chutes Coulonge Adventure Park located in Mansfield-et-Pontefract (Fort-Coulonge) in the Outaouais region. “We did the tree top obstacle courses and the canyon zip lines over the Coulonge River,” said Cait Foy, Connexions Community Outreach Coordinator for the Pontiac. ”It was very hot that day, so the zip lining gave us a little cool down. Plus, we were the last people of the day, so we were able to do the two large canyon zips twice. But it was hot, and the uphill hike meant that we both had a great nap after supper that evening!”

Highlights:

? Discover Chutes Coulonge

? Types of hiking trails: You can explore the footbridges, trails and lookouts (1.5 km) and discover the beauty of this historical park, including Fort-Coulonge’s 50 m waterfalls and white water canyon, both peaceful and breathtaking sites, and the Via Ferrata, a 600-metre climbing/hiking experience along the rock face above the Coulonge River: Tourisme Outaouais

⚕️ Health benefits of zip lining? One great way to get rid of excess stress is to go zip lining. The adrenaline boost will instantly erase your stress! And when you combine that adrenaline boost with fresh air and the peacefulness of being out in nature, it makes zip lining a perfect stress buster.

? What is forest bathing? The term emerged in Japan in the 1980s as a physiological and psychological exercise called shinrin-yoku (“forest bathing” or “taking in the forest atmosphere”). The purpose: to immerse oneself in nature as an eco-antidote to burnout and to inspire individuals to reconnect with and protect our forests.
